I've done one longer inn-to-inn trek with full pack along the Rota Vicentina Fisherman's Trail with a friend, which was an amazing intro to longer treks. I've heard great things about longer hiking in Cornwall. Reddit had some good info, but it did make me nervous (if solo) about the lack of reception and the difficulty of the path from Zennor to St Ives. Here's a couple of options I've researched, and I'll update with findings once I've done them.
Option 1: Southwest Coast Path: Penzance to St Ives
(basically the reverse of this All Trails map)
4.5 days total, 3 days of hiking, ~£500, ~40 miles. Hiking with a 40L backpack, with all things you need. Prices may vary and best to book ahead.
Day 1 - Late arrival to Penzance. ~16:00 train on GWR from Paddington to Penzance (£85), ~21:30 arrival. Stay at the Long Boat Inn (£85) near the station.
Day 2 - Penzance to Porthcurno. ~20km / 13 miles. Stay at Seaview Inn (~£100). Very small town, not many restaurants, so arrange something before or pack a sandwich from Penzance just in case.
Day 3 - Porthcurno to Pendeen. ~24km / 15 miles. Lunch at Sennon Cove. Stay at The North Inn (£70 w/ breakfast included, dinner available for a charge).
Day 4 - Pendeen to St Ives. ~20km / 13 miles. Supposedly the Coastal Path is tricky. Stop in Zennor at the Tinners Arms for lunch. Many options to stay, I was going to get a room at The Sloop Inn (~£80).
Day 5 - GWR train from St Ives to Paddington (~£85)
Option 2:
Stay in St Ives or around Gwithian, day hiking, surfing. Can fly to Cornwall Airport Newquay or take the train from London.
Day 1 - travel to St Ives
Day 2 - Hike St Ives to Zennor - ~12 mile loop, lunch at Tinners Arms. Many shorter hike options available, if you want to hike in the morning/surf in the afternoon or vice-versa.
Day 3 - St Ives Surf School or Gwithian Beach Shore Surf School or a couple other options
Day 4 - travel to London
